The Lifescape Health and Wellness program offers highest level, evidence based workshops designed to promote the health and independence of older adults. Workshops consist of a variety of group activities and cover a wide range of topics. These free workshops are hosted at various locations throughout your community.

A Matter of Balance

Many older adults restrict their activities because they are concerned about falling. A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.

Seniors learn that falls and the fear of falling are controllable. Participants will set realistic goals to increase activity, learn ways to change their environment to reduce factors that cause falls, and learn exercises that increase strength and improve balance. This program helps seniors live life with less fear and helps seniors stay active and independent.

Who Can Benefit from A Matter of Balance?

Designed to benefit community-dwelling older adults who:

  • Are concerned about falls
  • Have sustained a fall in the past
  • Restrict activities because of concerns about falling
  • Are interested in improving flexibility, balance and strength
  • Are age 60+, ambulatory and able to problem-solve

Bingocize®

Bingocize® offers a unique solution that mixes exercise, health education, and bingo to help overcome health problems in participants across the entire spectrum of care. It’s completely adaptable for all types of facilities and is beneficial for all ranges of physical and mental ability. Evidence shows social, cognitive, and physical improvements when Bingocize® is used regularly.

The Bingocize® program meets the highest- level criteria for evidence-based disease prevention and health promotion programs as established by the Administration on Aging Evidence-Based Programs Review Committee. The Health Communities Institute also recognized it as an evidence-based practice.

Geri-Fit®

Geri-Fit®

Geri-Fit® is an evidence-based health promotion program and chronic disease self-management support program. Geri-Fit’s functional strength training workouts help to rebuild strength that’s been lost through the aging process.

The Geri-Fit® program requires a set of light dumbbell weights, and a stretch band. There’s no dancing, choreography or floorwork and participants never have to get on the floor. Men and women find Geri-Fit a challenging, effective and very safe workout to do.

Who Can Benefit from Geri-Fit®?

Designed to benefit older adults who:

  • Suffer from a chronic disease such as pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, or chronic pain
  • Are looking to improve flexibility, balance and strength they have lost due to aging
  • Are looking for a fun way to stay active with other individuals
  • Are looking to prevent falls in the future

Stress-Busting Programs

The Stress-Busting Program (SBP) for Family Caregivers™ is an evidence-based program that provides support to family caregivers of persons with dementia or a chronic illness. It has been proven to improve the quality of life for family caregivers who provide care to an older loved one, helping them manage their stress and cope better with their lives.

During the Stress Busting Program for Family Caregivers™, caregivers will:

  • Learn about stress and its effects
  • Practice stress management techniques
  • Develop problem-solving skills
